TULSA, OK -- The group "Who Owns Tulsa?" revealed on Thursday they are withdrawing their appeal to the board of adjustments. The group says it can't afford the fight against a new apartment complex for low income and mentally ill people at 10 North Yale.
Some neighbors wanted the building smaller; others believed it shouldn't be there at all.
But everyone in the group was angry because they never had a say in the project.
Here is part of a statement from "Who Owns Tulsa?":
"We made a valiant effort and I believe many of those involved now understand the importance of including neighborhoods."
Spokeswoman Julie Hall said the group made a valiant effort and she believes many of those involved now understand the importance of including neighborhoods.
The building site is already under contract and zoned. It's supposed to open in 2010.
