TU Hosts East Carolina in C-USA Championship

Tulsa will host East Carolina, winners of the East Division, in the Conference USA Football Championship Game on Saturday.

TULSA, OK -- Tulsa will host East Carolina, winners of the East Division, in the Conference USA Football Championship Game at 11:02 am on Saturday at Skelly Field @ H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

Tickets for the C-USA Football Championship Game are on sale online. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Reynolds Center Ticket Office on the TU campus or by phone at 918-631-GoTU (4688) on Monday, Dec. 1, from 8:30-6 pm.

Tickets can be purchased online, in person or by calling the ticket office. Ticket office hours are 8:30-6 pm, Monday, and 8:30-5 pm Tuesday-Friday.

Season ticket holders can retain their seat locations, but must purchase these seats by Monday at 6 pm. The easiest way for season ticket holders to purchase their season ticket location is online.

Ticket prices for the C-USA Championship game are $20, $30 and $40.

This is the sixth meeting between Tulsa and East Carolina. Tulsa leads the series 5-2.

The Hurricane has won the last two meetings, in¬cluding a 31-10 win in 2006 at Greenville. The last meeting in Tulsa came in 2005, when the Hurricane grabbed a 45-13 victory.

Tulsa won the first three games in the series, before ECU won the next two contests.

The most points by Tulsa in the series came in a 52-26 win in 1993.

Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor and Greenville, North Carolina Mayor Patricia Dunn have placed a friendly wager on the outcome of Saturday's C-USA Championship game.

Should TU lose the game, Mayor Taylor is pledging to send an Oklahoma Red Bud, the state's official tree to the North Carolina Mayor to be planted in a Greenville City Park.

If East Carolina fails, Mayor Dunn will send a Carolina Pine to Tulsa. Mayor Taylor says she will be scouting the perfect place to plant the pine tree in Tulsa.
