TULSA, OK -- Tulsa homicide detectives make an arrest in the city's latest murder. Officers actually found their suspect already sitting in a jail cell.
Now, he faces an additional murder complaint in the death of 89-year-old Roland Buck.
A patrol officer stopped 24-year-old William Nichols Tuesday night while he was driving the victim's car.
At that time, no one knew the victim was dead, but the officers arrested Nichols for outstanding warrants.
Police say the murder of Roland Buck was vicious. He'd been tied up and beaten, even though he was a frail, elderly man.
He lived alone, but still drove and mowed his own yard.
His nephews had taken him fishing last Sunday, then got worried when they didn't see his car in the drive-way.
They discovered his body Thursday night.
Neighbors say they can't imagine anyone hurting someone so kind.
"It's just awful. I can't imagine anybody being that mean," said Terry Rhodes, neighbor.
Detectives believe robbery was the motive and are still looking for a second suspect who may be connected to the murder.
