TULSA, OK -- OU Tulsa's School of Community Medicine wants to begin cultivating the next generation of doctors early. That's why the university is partnering with Booker T. Washington High School.
They'll be partners in education as the two schools work together to battle Oklahoma's poor health rankings and a national shortage of medical professionals.
"Working with a great high school like Booker T. Washington allows us to start getting the interest into going into medicine with these students early, so when they hit college they'll be ready to go," said OU Tulsa President Gerry Clancy.
Booker T.'s principal says the partnership isn't just good for the two schools, but the community as a whole.
