TULSA, OK -- The attorney for former Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of SemGroup says Tom Kivisto won't be a scapegoat for the company's troubles.

Kivisto was officially fired in late October by SemGroup.

Kivisto is asking a Delaware bankruptcy judge to deny the company's request to question him and have records about his role in the company's collapse.

Kivisto argues the investigation duplicates work planned by former FBI Director Louis Freeh.

Kivisto's attorney, John Tucker says SemGroup's plan to try and turn Kivisto into a scapegoat is "absolute nonsense."
