BRISTOW, OK -- It is being called a disturbing case of animal abuse.  Some citizens of Creek County are outraged that no charges have been filed in what they call a clear-cut case of animal cruelty.

More than two weeks ago a dog named Jake was tied to a rope and dragged behind a truck.  The dog is in serious condition, but will likely survive.  He has no pads left on his feet and one leg may have to be amputated.

Witnesses got the truck's tag number and reported the incident to the Creek County Sheriff's Office.  But, so far no charges have been filed in the case.

The deputy who's working the case says he's waiting for some key evidence and he hopes charges will be filed in the next couple of weeks.

The Oklahoma Alliance for Animals is seeking donations to help with the veterinarian bills for Jake.  Donations can also be mailed to Oklahoma Alliance for Animals at 2642 E. 21st, Suite 120 Tulsa, OK  74114.
