Murphy Wins Corporation Commission Seat

Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Jim Roth lost his bid for re-election.

UNDATED -- Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Jim Roth lost his bid for re-election in Tuesday's balloting.  Republican Dana Murphy won election by a margin of 52% to 48%.

Democrat Jim Roth was appointed to the commission in 2007 by Governor Brad Henry to fill the seat vacated by the resignation of Commissioner Denise Bode.  Prior to serving on the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Roth was twice elected to the Oklahoma County Commission.

Republican Dana Murphy is a former administrative law judge at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.  The Woodward native has most recently  been in private law practice with an emphasis in oil and gas title, transactional and regulatory work.
