Suspect In Fatal Shooting Named

TULSA, OK -- The suspect shot and killed by Tulsa Police Monday afternoon at an east Tulsa apartment complex has been identified as Eduardo Onofre. 

The shooting happened at Creekside Apartments near 39^th and Garnett. 

Police say two officers, identified as William Yelton and Stephen Florea were patrolling the complex when they got into a scuffle with two suspects trying to steal a vehicle. 

Police say Onofre was shot and killed when he got into another vehicle and was attempting to flee. 

Yelton has been a Tulsa Police officer since 1985 and Florea an officer since 1998.
