UNDATED (AP) -- Showers and thunderstorms are likely in eastern Oklahoma today, but skies will be clear and temperatures mild through the weekend.
The National Weather Service says a surface cold front that arrived on Monday stalled and lifted slightly back northwest yesterday, pushing warmer air far north as Oklahoma City and Stillwater.
An upper level low pressure trough will de-amplify as it lifts through the region west of the front, producing chances of steady light to moderate rain over far western and northern Oklahoma overnight.
Precipitation will end today with low level dry air undercutting a weakening upper trough. Temperatures will be much cooler, with some upper 30s and low 40s showing up for Thursday through Saturday mornings.
