TULSA, OK -- Big changes are coming to highways across northeastern Oklahoma, thanks to a plan from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
After getting a couple major funding problems worked out, ODOT has released a new 8-year plan.
In Tulsa, some of the first projects to be tackled in the plan include 6-laning U.S. Highway 169 from I-244 north to 36th Street North.
It also continues the work to improve I-44, including 6-laning it at Harvard and beginning the prep work for six lanes it at Lewis.
The new plan also includes a brand new interchange at I-44 and 193rd East Avenue, in front of the Cherokee Casino.
