UNDATED -- With a dominant defense and Sam Bradford's pinpoint passing, Oklahoma is on its way back to No. 1.

Bradford threw for a career-best 411 yards and four touchdowns, Manuel Johnson set a school record with 206 yards receiving and the second-ranked Sooners avenged their last loss at Owen Field by beating No. 24 TCU 35-10 on Saturday.

With top-ranked Southern California and three other top 10 teams losing, Oklahoma (4-0) made as strong a case as anyone to get back to No. 1 for the first time since it lost to Kansas State in the 2003 Big 12 championship game.

In Stillwater, Zac Robinson threw three touchdown passes to Dez Bryant, and Oklahoma State reached 50 points for the third consecutive game in a 55-24 win over Troy on Saturday night.

Oklahoma State (4-0) is undefeated after the non-conference portion of its schedule for the first time since 2005 and might be poised to move into The Associated Press Top 25. The Cowboys finished 27th in last week's balloting.

The Cowboys finished with 612 yards of offense, the eighth-highest total in school history, against a Troy defense that entered the game 11th in the Football Bowl Subdivision at 237.7 yards per game. Troy allowed 309 yards a week earlier in a 28-10 loss at Ohio State.

Oklahoma State came into the game fifth nationally in total offense at 546 yards per game.

Meanwhile, Tulsa's David Johnson threw for 286 yards and four touchdowns as the Golden Hurricane overpowered Central Arkansas, 62-34.

Tarrion Adams ran for 120 yards and scored twice and Courtney Tennial added three 1-yard touchdown runs as Tulsa's prolific offense amassed 641 yards.

The Bears (4-1), who came in ranked 12th in the Football Championship Subdivision, gave the Hurricane (4-0) all it could handle for a half. They trailed just 28-20 at the break thanks to the passing of NFL prospect Nathan Brown, who completed 24 of 33 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns.

But Tulsa's defense finally came up with consecutive stops to open the second half and the offense -- which entered the game ranked second in the NCAA in passing offense and total offense -- was never slowed.

Johnson's 26-yard strike to Brennan Marrion, who caught six passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns, gave Tulsa a 35-20 cushion early in the second half. After a 29-yard field goal by Jarod Tracy, UCA made its final push as Brown hit Willie Landers with a screen pass. Landers shook a tackle and raced 60 yards for a score to cut the lead to 38-26. Landers finished with five catches for 117 yards.

Tulsa scored easily on its next two possessions to seal the outcome.

Johnson, who entered the game as the nation's leader in pass efficiency, completed 18 of 22 passes with two interceptions. Tulsa did not punt in the contest. Johnson threw touchdown passes of 51 yards to Marion, 14 yards to Slick Shelley and 24 yards to Adams. Jamad Williams set up Tennial's first score with a 31-yard run.
