Doctor Disappears Before Patients' Eyes

TULSA, OK -- Some Lasik eye surgery patients are losing patience with their doctor.  His office closed with no warning.  And, now some of the patients may be out of hundreds of dollars.

Some say it's a clear case of confusion, and now all eyes are on a doctor they trusted with their vision and money.

Dr. Holley's website advertised a good deal with a good doctor.  And, Coach Brian Worrell says Holley Vision came highly recommended.  So, his wife became a patient there.

"She was tired of contacts, tired of wearing glasses.  She was just wanted to have the eye surgery," said Brian Worrell.

He says the surgery went well, and his wife was looking forward to her six month checkup this week.  There's just one problem.

"Well, my wife actually was speaking to them on the phone.  She was very caught off guard.  It was a big surprise to her," said Brian Worrell.

A trip to the doctor's office was a dead end, too. The office is locked up and there's also a notice saying it's closed for good.

 "This office.  This doctor just up and left.  The whole place is gone," said Brian Worrell.

Worrell worries they're now out the $200 he says they gave to Dr. Ronald Holley for a one year warranty.  And, that's not their only concern.

"Particularly for her eyes in case somewhere down the road there is a problem or issue that needs to be fixed or corrected. We're just kind of concerned.  Where would we go?  Who would we speak to?" said Brian Worrell.

The News On 6 asked Dr. Holley the same question including what would happen to the hundreds of dollars some patients paid for a warranty.   He wouldn't comment on that or why he closed down.

The state board of osteopathic examiners sent an investigator to Holley's home and they say he's cooperating.
