TULSA, OK -- Retail giant Wal-Mart stepped in to help Oklahomans prepare for emergencies. This weekend, 93 stores across the state helped Oklahomans put together emergency preparation kits. It's all part of national preparedness month.
Organizers provided sample kits, information on different emergencies, and a checklist of necessary items.
"Well if you don't have power or anything you'll have to be able to get the things that you need. So this would put them aside while you're calm and able to think about it so you'll have them when you need them," said Manager Allen Harris.
If you want to make your own emergency kit, experts say you should include water, non-perishable food, medical supplies and important personal documents.
