BROKEN ARROW, OK -- There are 200 three year olds in the Union School District getting an early start on their education. The district opened the Rosa Parks Early Childhood Center on Thursday on East 46th Place in Broken Arrow.
It's a partnership between Union, Community Action Project, and the George Kaiser Family Foundation, which advocates for early education.
"They will have the very best kind of instruction that we can provide that's developmentally appropriate. Even the rocks on the playground are developmentally appropriate for three year olds," said Union Superintendent Dr. Cathy Burden.
The all-day, 5-day-a-week program is a first for Union Schools. Tulsa has some similar programs already in place.
