SAPULPA, OK -- Around 750 Green Country soldiers will be back on the homefront next month and some local groups want to make sure they're recognized for their service.

The American Legion in Sapulpa and the family readiness group for the returning soldiers have partnered together to raise money for a special welcome home and thank you dinner.

"The dinner can cost anywhere from 25 to 35 dollars a person and we're expecting anywhere from a thousand to 1,300 people because we want to feed a soldier plus one, a soldier plus a spouse or a soldier plus a fiancée, so it's a significant amount of money," said Rhonda Jeffries.

The groups are selling yellow ribbon lapel pins, tree bows, and wristbands to raise money. Contact the American Legion in Sapulpa at (918) 224-1460 for more information.
