BROKEN ARROW, OK -- City leaders, school officials and average citizens gathered on Saturday to help beautify Broken Arrow. The volunteers met for the city's semi-annual trash bash.
They walked up and down mile long stretches of road throughout the city picking up trash and debris.
"I'm glad we're doing it because it's cleaning up broken arrow, you shouldn't be throwing trash out in the roads anyway to begin with but it really keeps the city clean," said Broken Arrow Mayor Wade McCaleb.
Many of the volunteers are members of the city's adopt a mile program, including Mayor McCaleb.
If you'd like to help out, Broken Arrow will hold another trash bash in about six months.
