The Tulsa County Fairgrounds celebrated a major milestone in its construction on Monday. Employees started moving into the fairgrounds' brand new kitchen.
The 22,000 square foot structure is built onto the historic armory, on the north side of the fairgrounds. The kitchen will be operated by the fairgrounds' in-house meal provider, ExpoServe.
"This facility will enable us to be more efficient and to grow our business and take advantage of the fact that all this new construction will bring even more guests. And, it's going to improve our ability to go to a higher level of meal service," said ExpoServe's Siegmund Brown.
Brown says the kitchen should be ready to go by the time the Tulsa State Fair starts in a couple of weeks.
