Some golfers are teeing off to help others. Saturday is the second annual Patriot Golf Day.
It's a national event that began in Green Country. Major Dan Rooney of Broken Arrow founded the event.
Here's how it works, golf courses across the nation ask their golfers to donate an extra $1.00 on top of their original green fees. The money then goes to the Folds of Honor Foundation.
"That mission is to provide college and vocational scholarships to the sons and daughters of military members who have either been disabled or killed in Iraq and Afghanistan," said Major Dan Rooney, Folds of Honor Foundation
Last year the event raised more than $1 million, and provided nearly 200 scholarships to military children. They're expecting even more this year.
