TPD Plan For BOK Center

Tulsa Police have a plan to deal with crowds headed downtown to visit the city's new arena.

For the BOK Center's biggest events, TPD will open a downtown command center.  Plus, officers and barricades will be stationed throughout downtown.  The department will scale back for events with fewer than 10,000 spectators.

At least a dozen officers will be inside the arena at all times, and 30 more will be patrolling surrounding streets in cars, on horseback and on bikes.

Tulsa's security plan is similar to Oklahoma City's procedure for events at the Ford Center.
