Man Instantly Killed In Car Accident

WAGONER, Okla. (AP) -- A car slammed into a tree near Fort Gibson Lake, instantly killing the 23-year-old driver.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Thomas James Lee Kelly of Wagoner died at the scene of Saturday morning's crash. The accident happened just before 1 a.m. on White Horn Cove Road in Wagoner County.

The patrol says Kelly was eastbound when he misjudged a curve, ran off the road and slammed into a tree.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The patrol says Kelly was not wearing a seatbelt.
