The fight over a new homeless shelter took center stage at a neighborhood meeting on Saturday evening.
Dozens of property owners are fighting the city's proposal to build a new homeless shelter at the intersection of I-244 and Yale.
The low-income housing complex is being built as a replacement for the downtown YMCA which will close its doors for good in 16 months.
Despite homeowner objections, the Tulsa City Council said they're going ahead with their original plan. Homeowners say their main concern is safety.
Others argue low-income people also have a right to housing.
