Man Shot To Death In Front Of Wife

The Osage County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of a man shot to death outside his home late Wednesday.  Sheriff's deputies say the victim is 41-year-old Ronnie Barrett. 

The fatal shooting happened in a housing addition about 5 miles north of Sand Springs and the victim's wife saw the whole thing.  The home is located in the 4000 block of North Briar Cliff Road.

Sheriff's deputies say two men, both wearing masks, approached Ronnie Barrett and his wife in the couple's front yard shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday.  An argument ensued, ending with shots being fired, hitting the victim in the head. 

The victim's wife told deputies, the suspects then stole Barrett's Chevy pickup truck and fled the scene. 

A few hours later, the Chevy pickup truck was found at the Apple Creek Apartments at U.S. Highway 412 and 129th West Avenue, by the victim's brother, who called Sand Springs Police. 

The victim's wife told deputies she had never seen the suspects before.
