Georgia health officials have detected salmonella in food made right here in Oklahoma. The Georgia Department of Agriculture says it found salmonella bacteria in tuna salad.
Vaughn Foods' Allison's Gourmet Kitchen, in Moore made the tuna.
The bacteria was found in 12-ounce Deli Fresh tuna salad packages marked "Use by July 29th, 2008."
The bacteria was detected during a routine sampling at a Georgia grocery store. The product has since been pulled.
