Oklahoma joins the push for a four-day work week for state employees. Half a dozen states are considering a work week of only four, ten-hour days to save on fuel costs. And now, state lawmakers are pushing for Oklahoma to do it, too.
Lawmakers say it's a chance to help state employees, who are often underappreciated and underpaid, save on gas. State Representative Mike Shelton says, since 2000, state workers have received just two raises. He says they need help.
Representative Shelton says, since 2000, buying power for state employees has dropped $3,600 while gas prices have increased more than 200%.
