Attempted Gas Theft

Tulsa Police are investigating an attempted gas theft overnight. 

Police say a would-be thief had disconnected the fill spout of a parked delivery truck, inserted a siphon hose in the tank and was filling a plastic container. For some reason the thief left, leaving all his equipment and gas flowing out of the truck. 

The attempt was near 41st Street on 70th East Avenue. 

Police say a man coming to work about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, noticed the smell of gasoline and called police. 

The Tulsa Fire Department was also called to clean up the slipped gasoline.
