A ceiling collapsed on a firefighter as he battled an apartment fire on Thursday night. The fire started around 11:00 at the Apple Creek Apartments located at Elm and Charleston in Broken Arrow.
The fire was concentrated in a vacant second floor apartment. The ceiling collapsed on a firefighter who was inside. He was taken to a local hospital to be checked out. No residents were hurt.
Three other apartments had smoke or water damage. The damage is estimated at about $75,000.
A storm was rolling through Broken Arrow at the time of the fire. Officials are trying to determine whether lightning may have played a role.
