Tulsa homeowners will foot the bill for a bad business deal the city made years ago. Former Tulsa Mayor Susan Savage and the city council agreed to back Great Plains Airlines in 2000.
Not long after, the airline went belly up, defaulting on a $7 million loan to the Bank of Oklahoma.
The current Tulsa City Council voted on Thursday night to pay the debt to settle a lawsuit. The deal will increase property taxes for the next three years.
