Several of the low-lying areas around the Tulsa area that tend to always flood, flooded again Monday.

Police were at the intersection of 101st and Garnett Monday morning to warn drivers about the high waters. With more rain on the way, other intersections are sure to have similar problems.

Heavy rains and strong winds pound much of eastern Oklahoma overnight.

The driving rains overnight kept rescue workers busy. Over in Creek County, the water flooded an area near state Highway 97 and 61st Street in Sapulpa. A woman was in her compact car on 61st Street when it was swept away. Officials say her husband tried to come get her, but then his truck stalled in the water.

Sapulpa firefighters were able to rescue the couple.

It was a similar sight on some streets in Tulsa. At 44th and Sheridan, a couple of cars got trapped in the high water, but the drivers managed to escape unharmed.

Strong winds were also a factor to be dealt with overnight as winds brought down a tree at Skelly and Memorial.

In Sand Springs, authorities investigated a report of a vehicle stalled in high water.

PSO reported around 4,000 customers without power in the Tulsa metro area overnight as well.

Many residents in Claremore are also off line early Monday morning as well.
