Election Board Removes Only Democrat On Ballot In House District

TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- The only Democrat in the running for a vacated state House seat in the Tulsa area has been removed from the ballot.

The state Election Board struck the name of Ephraim Alajaji from the ballot in House District 75 after Republican Dan Kirby challenged whether he was a registered voter.

Alajaji was the only Democrat who filed for the election in the district, while four Republicans entered the race.

Republican Dennis Adkins represented the district the past eight years but is not seeking re-election to a fifth term.
