Some moms got a special pre-Mother's Day treat at Eliot Elementary on Friday. It was a Mother's Day Spa with all the amenities, all provided by their children. The News On 6's Rick Wells reports it's become quite a tradition in one second grade class.
Moms arrived at noon and the first stop was the light lunch buffet.
It is an annual event in Kimberly Hendrix's second grade every year the Friday before Mother's Day.
There was soothing spa music and everyone's into it, even the ones who are little unsure what's happening.
Some Moms came by on their lunch hour and had to go back to work, some with a new hair-do.
Each little masseur and masseuse got a kit with all the essentials.
Some of the hair treatments were interesting.
One big surprise was even the boys who never imagined painting nails, did pretty well.
All-in-all, the kids loved it. The moms were thrilled. Each one got a rose and a big hug.
How could Mother's Day be much better than that?
The Mother's Day Spa was open from noon until 12:45, and most all the moms were able to go. For the one or two who weren't, teachers filled in so each child got to pamper someone.
