The Salvation Army has unveiled their new Kitchen on Wheels to help get meals to families after a disaster. The Kiwanis Club of Oklahoma teamed up with the Salvation Army and donated the mobile kitchen.
Each kitchen costs more than $145,000 and provides over 1,200 meals per day to those in need.
On Saturday, volunteers were trained how to prepare food safely on the mobile kitchen.
"Since they are mobile if there is a disaster nationwide we can send a Tulsa crew to Florida for instance for a hurricane or any other nationwide disaster we can send people from Oklahoma to serve those in need," said Salvation Army Public Relation Director Brad Borror.
Saturday was just the first day of the training, if you are interested in volunteering call 918-587-7801.
