Fatal Rogers County Traffic Accident

One person is dead following a traffic accident on state Highway 20 in Rogers County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the accident happened east of Claremore at Will Rogers Downs shortly before 8 a.m. Friday.

OHP troopers say a westbound pickup truck driven by 43-year old Wilfred Dixon of Louisiana struck the rear of a semi horse trailer that was turning into the race track area.

A passenger in the pickup truck, 34-year-old Channetta McDonald of Louisiana was pronounced dead at the scene.

The OHP says the driver of the pickup truck was taken to a Claremore hospital where he was treated and released.

The driver and two passengers in the semi pulling the horse trailer were not injured.
