A historic church in downtown Bixby held a very special Easter service on Sunday. Just one year ago the building was in danger of being torn down.
The Oak Grove Baptist Church has stood in the same spot for more than 85 years. At one time the church had more than 100 members. Declining membership forced the church up for sale, but True Life Tabernacle has purchased it.
The pastor says it's good to know his church once again has a promising future.
"God's given His favor in so many ways. And so with some help along the way, He'll help us do and become what we're going to," said True Life Tabernacle Pastor Rodney Stacy.
Currently, the church has two dozen members. But Stacey says he's hoping new community outreach programs will help expand his congregation.
