Broken Arrow is making an effort to replace trees lost in the ice storm.
The planting is being done with the help of a $7,500 donation from Arvest Bank and the Walton Family Foundation.
The City of Broken Arrow is planting Redbud and Whitebud trees at Veterans Park. They say the location will give people a great first impression of the city and turn things around after the ice storm.
"So, this is really kind of a rebirth, a small step in the rebirth of bringing back more of the beauty and greenery, not only to the City of Broken Arrow, but the area," said the city's Keith Sterling.
The trees planted on Thursday are about 10-feet tall. The city plans to plant more this fall.
