April showers may bring May flowers, but it also brings the threat of severe weather.  Severe weather and tornadoes can strike at any time, but from April to June is peak tornado season in Oklahoma that's why The News On 6 has teamed up with McDonalds for the McReady program.

Like the WARN Team, the McReady program's goal is to keep you safe during severe weather.  And Oklahomans know all too well that severe weather ranges from lightning storms to flooding and of course tornadoes.

You can find important emergency preparedness and severe weather information at area McDonald's Restaurants, online at www.McReady.org and in The News On 6's Storm Zone.

It's important to teach kids about severe weather, but not to scare them, and that's why News On 6 Chief Meteorlogist Travis Meyer talks to area kids to teach them the dangers of Mother Nature using science and fun!  If you'd like Trav to delve into the world of Oklahoma's tornado season you can submit your request....
