The City of McAlester could face a lawsuit if it doesn't put $10 million of taxpayer money back into the city coffers.
Financial problems in McAlester have been reported since 2005.
An accountant says city leaders put dedicated tax revenues into the general fund, instead of spending them on the special projects they were meant for.
McAlester will have to return the missing $10 million to avoid a possible lawsuit from taxpayers.
