The Sutton Avian Research Center near Bartlesville says its 2008 Oklahoma Bald Eagle cam is now online.
The nest, located at Sooner Lake between Ponca City and Stillwater, sits on top of an artificial steel "tree." The steel "tree" was built and erected by OG&E. The web cam is located nearby.
The Bald Eagle nest contains a 4-egg clutch, which Sutton Avian Research officials say is almost unheard of.
Sutton Avian Research Center assistant director Alan Jenkins says the first egg was laid close to February 1 and depending upon incubation, the first hatchling should appear this week.
Jenkins also thanked a number of donors who have helped make the 2008 Oklahoma Bald Eagle cam and related projects successful.
The list includes Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co., Atlas Computers, F&M Bank of Tulsa, NatureWorks, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the INASMUCH Foundation, and the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation.
