A decision by the Sand Springs city council Monday evening could send city to court.  City councilors have once again said "no" to a limestone quarry within the city.

The Sand Springs planning commission denied the company's request to dig the quarry in December.  Developers of the quarry appealed to the city council, which once again denied it.

Neighbors have been fighting the quarry.  They say it's environmentally unsound and would lower property values. The company wants to develop the quarry on 515 acres of vacant land located between Avery Drive and 41st Street, east of state Highway 97.

Sand Springs Materials says it will take the case to an Oklahoma district court.
