Kids and smoking topped the agenda on the first day of this year's legislative session. A senate committee now wants to ban minors from restaurants that allow smoking.
The measure would bar people under 18 from going into restaurant smoking rooms. Members of the Senate Business and Labor Committee rejected an Oklahoma Restaurant Association representative's request to vote against the measure.
Business leaders say that's the legislation is unfair to restaurants that, due to state law, had to invest in specially ventilated rooms for smokers.
