Some new money is coming into the BOK Center project, through sponsorships. The News On 6’s Emory Bryan reports another $5 million in sponsorship deals have been made for the BOK Center, bringing the total for sponsorships to over $20 million.
The mayor announced Friday morning that Cox Communications and the Cherokee Casino paid a combined $5 million to be founding partners for the arena. That will buy them some advertising inside the bowl and pay for space in the outer hallways where the companies can promote their products.
"We are extremely proud to be a sponsor and a founding partner with the City of Tulsa,†said Dave Bialis with Cox Communications.
Cox will provide all the telecommunications needs for the arena for 10 years and build a Kid's Zone in the main concourse.
Last August, Mayor Kathy Taylor made the first BOK Center Founders announcement that included Founding Sponsorships for ONEOK, Williams Companies, and Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group representing approximately $15.95 million in investments.
The casino will be promoted as the official gaming resort of the BOK Center.
