NORMAN, Okla. (AP) A day after it was said Oklahoma defensive end Auston English would play Saturday against Texas Tech he underwent a surgical procedure on his injured ankle and is now listed as day-to-day.
Doctors have fastened a rod onto English's right ankle to stabilize a hairline fracture he suffered against Texas A&M.
The surgery was recommended after English complained of pain while practicing.
Coach Bob Stoops says English may still be able to play but a decision won't be made until shortly before game time.
Junior Alan Davis will start if English can't play.
