The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has ordered a new sentencing trial for Carlis Ball of Tulsa. Ball was found guilty of 1st-degree murder for scalding to death of his 2-year-old son Keenan Taylor in 2005. Ball was sentenced to two life prison terms, one for the murder, the other for child neglect.

The state appeals court in its ruling issued this week said the jurors were not instructed that Ball would serve 85% of his sentences before being eligible for parole.
