BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) _ Strong winds and dry conditions raised wildfire worries on Tuesday, prompting the National Weather Service to issue red flag warnings for all of North Dakota.

Forecasters said winds gusted as strong as 74 mph, and mild temperatures in the 50s and 60s pushed down humidity.

The North Dakota Forest Service urged people in the state, including hunters, to take precautions against wildfires. State Homeland Security Director Greg Wilz recommended no open flames be used outdoors.

``It only takes a split second ... to spark an uncontrollable fire that has the potential to destroy thousands of acres of rural land or even residential property,'' he said.
