WOODWARD, Okla. (AP) -- His mother has been tried and convicted of his death. But for Woodward County Sheriff Les Morton and his department, the case of a little boy missing for more than five years is still open.

A Woods County judge ordered Katherine Rutan, also known as Katherine Pollard, to serve a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. A jury convicted her of first-degree murder in the presumed death of Logan Tucker.

Logan Tucker disappeared in July 2002 and hasn't been seen since.

Morton and his deputies continue to follow up on leads or tips they receive about the possible whereabouts of the child, who was six years old when he was last seen.

Woodward County Sheriff Les Morton says finding Logan Tucker is not just important to him, but the whole community.
