LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The box office is buzzing this weekend. Jerry Seinfeld's animated comedy "Bee Movie" brought its A-game, bringing in $26 million dollars and jumping to the number one spot.
The family flick switched places with "American Gangster" after debuting at number two the weekend before. DreamWorks-Paramount estimates the movie has made more than $72 million.
Universal's "American Gangster," which stars Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, came in second with over $24 million in ticket sales this weekend, lifting its total to nearly $81 million.
The Warner Brothers family comedy "Fred Claus," starring Vince Vaughn as the black-sheep brother of Santa, opened at number three with just under $20 million.
