While Sunday was Veterans Day across the U.S., Tulsa will take time on Monday to honor Oklahoma veterans with a parade. The annual event will feature veterans, bands, floats and flag waving children filling the streets of downtown Tulsa. Parade organizers say due to all the construction in downtown Tulsa, the parade route is shorter this year.

The parade this year will begin at 6th and Cincinnati, go south to 10th Street where participants will turn east, the parade will continue to Elgin before turning north and ending at 6th Street.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 577, located at 1109 East 6th Street, will host a free breakfast for all veterans starting at 7 a.m. Monday. From there members will participate in the Veterans Day parade. At least 10,000 people are expected to attend the event. The Veterans Day parade begins at 11 a.m. Monday.
