OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Patients at intensive-care units at three Integris hospitals will be screened for antibiotic-resistant staph bacteria.

Hospital officials say eventually all patients will be screened with nasal swabs at Integris Baptist Medical Center and Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City and Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital in Yukon.

If hospital patients are shown to be carrying the bacteria they'll be isolated, and anyone entering their room must sign in at the visitors desk and then wear protective attire such as gloves, gowns or masks.
