One of the most prestigious conferences in the nation will be held in Tulsa, and it is all thanks to a $75,000 donation from AT&T. On Tuesday, Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor announced the city will host the National Trust For Preservation.
The conference will bring more than 2,000 guests to Tulsa, which will pump more than $2 million into the community.
Mayor Kathy Taylor says Tulsa has the third largest collection of art deco architecture in the nation, and it is important to protect it as downtown revitalization moves forward.
“We also know that many of our buildings are in danger and we need the support of this group and others to ensure that we work to find ways to preserve our history and our downtown heritage,†said Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor.
The conference is scheduled for October of next year.
