A suspect fires at Tulsa Police officers who were investigating a domestic violence incident late Thursday evening. It happened near 61st and Peoria at the Tamarack Apartments just before 10 pm. Police say it was a narrow escape for the officers who were the target of the gunman.

"They felt the concussion of the rounds go by their head. They heard the rounds and they heard about 5 to 7 rounds," said Tulsa Police Corporal Vicki Groves.

Tulsa Police were investigating a domestic violence call at the Tamarack Apartments when a gunman across the street began shooting at the officers. None of the police officers were hit.

Police say the shots came from the nearby River's Edge Apartments. Police officers say they saw a black male wearing all black run away from the scene. Officers were not able to catch the suspect but fanned out across the area to try to find him, but were unsuccessful.

Shell casings were found in the parking lot outside the River’s Edge Apartments complex.

Police are still looking for the suspect. Tulsa Police tell the News On 6, they want to question 17-year-old Marquis Johnson as a person of interest in the case. Police believe Johnson may have information about the gunman.

Tulsa Police are not sure if the domestic violence call and the shots fired at the officers are related.
