An assault case becomes a murder investigation for Tulsa Police. Police say 50-year-old Karen Ann Moncrief was found brutally beaten Wednesday afternoon at the Clarland Arms Apartments. Investigators say she died from her injuries on Thursday. Moncrief's death is the city of Tulsa's 58th homicide of the year. The Clarland Arms Apartments is located at 912 South 95th East Avenue.

Neighbors discovered her body at the complex Wednesday afternoon and called police. Tulsa Police say the victim had suffered severe injuries to her upper body. Police told the News On 6, they believe the beating may have been motivated by drugs.
